Casey Connor, Action Hero: The Roof
|
I'd thought of doing another whole collection specifically of "Casey's fabulous falls," but they really fit in with the action hero sequences since they take basically the same skills. Here we have Casey attempting to escape from his room after his dad takes away his privileges and his porno.
He sees three of the alien-possessed teachers watching him. I'd taken this shot separately, and wondered if I'd be able to tell where it fit into the series. With Elijah in the role, there's no problem. Look at his eyes in the pic just above, then in the one just below this frame.
Seeing the teachers evidently gets him off balance and he starts to slip. Typical falling action through this part...
...but then we have something different. This next bit looked just unnatural enough to make me suspect a bit of camera trickery. Look at the rotated versions below and see what you think. Not that this would be easy even if done horizontally (as can also be seen in the rotated pics). [Later edit after these caps have been posted for a few weeks: The vote is running against the pics being rotated.]
We don't see Casey hit the ground in this one.
But we see him directly after, and he's moving quickly enough to blur slightly from here till he's finished standing up.
Then dad gets back into the picture. The rest of these could probably go in the "Casey Connor: Angst-filled Dramatic Character" collection, but since we're here...
I catch a glimpse of Mikey Carver here. No quibbles with that, as Casey's fall has probably put him the step or two behind the rest of the world that Mikey experiences as a regular part of life. And he knows he saw those teachers, but now they're gone, causing even more confusion for Casey (but, evidently, not for his dad, who seems to just have his own suspicions confirmed).
From particular angles, though, we can see that Casey's musculoskeletal system is, say, a year or two more mature than Mikey's.
Dad is still conveniently holding the porno magazine.
Note: I get more disgusted with Casey's dad each time I watch this movie. What a jerk! Just wish he didn't look so much like Commander Ryker.
Here's the above fall rotated 90 degrees:
