Casey Connor, Action Hero: The Pool
|
Back in the school, Casey gets his first look at the "new Mary Beth."
In one of two maybe-not-so-smart moves (not bad for a horror movie), Casey grabs Stokely and runs toward the swimming pool ! (To escape an alien that thrives in water?)
The alien drags Stokely into the water and Casey goes to the rescue.
Casey is meant to be something of a klutz. He falls down a lot. OTOH, Elijah makes use of every fall and slip to actually propel himself along, benefiting his race to save Stokely instead of slowing it down. (Side note: Love the squid mosaic. Wonder if it was already there, or imported for the movie.)
Oops. Casey falls down.
But manages to fall in such a way that he's actually put himself into a runner's "starting block" posture.
And he's off on another sprint.
This leaning-forward type of running is very typical of Casey. I don't remember it being especially noticeable with Elijah's other characters.
Oops. Casey's hand goes down.
But ends up pushing him along instead of stopping him.
Starts slipping, so leans to grab hold of the ladder.
But then uses that grasp to slide around the ladder faster than he'd be able to run.
Stokely's pretty out of it which, as we find out shortly, is a good thing.
When they hit the locker room, Casey seems to think it's better if they split up. Perhaps he's thinking the alien is more likely to come after him.
