Packing: A Collection of Miscellany
A couple of interesting expressions while hunting through the trunk:
Handing the envelope to Gandalf (or, rather, Gandalf grabbing the envelope). I like the innocence in the first frame (a Caravaggio moment?), and the reaction when Gandalf whips the envelope out of his hands in the last two (it's hard to see unless you use slideshow mode, but in the second-to-last pic Frodo visibly backs out of Gandalf's way).
The following two frames have "other stuff" between them, but the similar angle just begs for comparison--and contrast. The first is, "But that will lead them here!" The second is immediately before, "What must I do?" A change from surprised fear to quiet determination.
And some of what came between those two shots--Frodo trying to give Gandalf the Ring. Just because I love the expressions.
It's movie-Frodo's chance to get a bit peevish with Gandalf, something book-Frodo does more than once. In fact, in the third and fourth caps I'd say he's downright mad (after the fear of the first two). In all of them, he's trying to deal with something he doesn't understand: The Ring is too much for him to handle--isn't it? Why won't Gandalf take it?
A couple of blurs--of character and background--to give an idea of the speed after the decision's made to leave.
Some not-quite-continuous shots of packing and preparing to go. In fact, during the time span of the first few caps, Frodo is packing that loaf of... whatever it is...
During this series, Frodo's attention is obviously centered on Gandalf (who isn't really there, right?).
